Types of Transport Passes According to User Profile (Youth, Senior, Regular, etc.)

• Normal Pass: Designed for individuals between 26 and 64 years old.
• Youth Pass: Available until the user turns 26 years old.
• Senior Pass: Applicable for individuals aged 65 and above.
• Pass for Recipients of Employment Activation Program.

All pass types offer discounted options for the following groups:

• General Large Families: 20% discount.
• Special Large Families: 50% discount.
• People with Disabilities: 20% discount.

Pricing and Reloading

The "30-Day Pass" is an evolution of the existing Monthly Pass and costs the same as the current pricing tier for each type. This pass is valid for thirty consecutive calendar days from its first validation, with a ten-day window after loading during which it must be used (after which the validity days begin to decrease even if not used).

The Youth Pass will expire when the user turns 26 years old, at which point they can switch to the Normal Pass without needing to renew their public transport card. Similarly, the Normal Pass expires upon reaching 65 years of age, allowing the transition to the Senior Pass without card renewal.

This applies across all fare zones and inter-zonal passes, excluding zones E1 and E2.

To apply for the Madrid Transport Pass card, an appointment is necessary. Reloading can be done at designated automatic vending machines located in Metro stations marked with specific TTP stickers, at select Bankia ATMs, authorized tobacco shops, and other approved sales points.

A single card may hold two loads of thirty days. The second load can occur once the first has been validated, with a ten-day initiation period starting from the end date of the initial validity.

Balance Inquiry

The available balance can be checked at automatic machines and validators (turnstiles) within Metro stations, Cercanías stations, transport interchanges, authorized tobacco shops, and designated ATMs. No prior appointment is required for these operations.

Further Information

The Consortium has established a series of valid fare zones applicable across all transport modes, along with a monthly or annual pass allowing unlimited journeys on any mode of transport (appointment required to obtain the card). Each pass for a specific zone grants access to inner zones (e.g., B3 pass users can travel within A, B1, and B2 zones). Notably, the Cercanías network includes an extra zone 0 that corresponds to the central core—inside the M-30—and contains key stations such as Príncipe Pío, Pirámides, Exquisiteces, Méndez Álvaro, Atocha, Recoletos, Sol, Nuevos Ministerios, and Chamartín. This zone is integrated into zone A but holds a unique distinction within the Cercanías network.
